In January 2019, a Women’s Ensemble (WE), directed by Marguerite Samuel, was created by the Chorale’s Board to give the Chorale flexibility in accepting community performance requests outside the Chorale’s formal Concert Sessions.
The first WE performance was at the Plant City Department of Recreation’s 2019 Annual Father-Daughter Date Night. The Ensemble sang 5 songs based on the event’s theme of A Fairy Garden. The second public performance was during the Chorale’s Spring 2019 concert, SET MY SPIRIT FREE! Since that concert, each Chorale concert showcases a WE performance.
This auditioned group has its own Director, Marguerite Samuel and a maximum membership of 12 ladies, who are all Chorale members.
Auditions ensure the quality and unity of the Ensemble’s sound; consequently, the Ensemble Director makes the ultimate decision of who may sing with the group.
WE’s repertoire is primarily a cappella which allows the greatest flexibility in performance and locations.
The singers meet Mondays from 5:45 – 6:45 pm each Monday before the Chorale’s 7:00 – 9:30 pm rehearsal. There may be an occasional Sunday rehearsal agreed upon by the WE members as required.
Women’s Ensemble is available to sing music appropriate for funerals, memorials, weddings & other special occasions.
