THE WOMEN’S ENSEMBLE
OF THE PCC CHORALE
In January 2019, a Women’s Ensemble was created by the Executive Board to allow the PCC Chorale the flexibility to accept community performance requests outside of our concerts and annual holiday community performances.
The first W.E. performance was at the Plant City Department of Recreation’s 2019 Annual Father-Daughter Date Night. The Ensemble sang 5 songs based on the theme of A Fairy Garden and was well received by those who attended.
Its 2nd performance was in the Spring 2019 PCC Chorale concert, SET MY SPIRIT FREE! This performance, too, was received well by that concert’s audience.
This auditioned group has its own Director and has a maximum membership of 12.
To audition, a singer must be a PCC Chorale Member in good standing.
Auditions are held when a current Chorale Member leaves the Ensemble.
Auditions ensure the quality and unity of the Ensemble’s sound. The Ensemble Director has the ultimate decision.
The Ensemble Members are responsible for purchasing their music, rehearsing and learning their parts, and attending rehearsals on time.
The Director and Ensemble Manager are responsible for seeking performance opportunities and selection of music.
Currently, the group’s repertoire is primarily a cappella, although there is an on-going search for an accompanist.
The Women’s Ensemble is available to sing music appropriate for funerals, memorials, weddings & other special occasions.
